"Golden," the breakout hit from the Netflix animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters, has won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 68th Grammy Awards.
The win marks a historic shift for the genre. While Korean engineers have previously touched Grammy gold, this is the first time K-pop composers and producers—including EJAE, Teddy, 24, and IDO—have been officially recognized as winners by the Recording Academy.
A Global Phenomenon
Performed by the film’s fictional girl group Huntress, "Golden" became a cultural juggernaut well before the ceremony. It is the first K-pop-related track to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart, proving the genre's massive reach beyond traditional idol groups.
Major outlets were quick to highlight the significance. The New York Times noted that the win represents the "long-awaited moment" where K-pop’s creative architects finally gained the Academy's seal of approval.
