On June 4, 2026, RBW confirmed that SECRET is preparing for a comeback, ending a roughly 12-year hiatus. The announcement followed a teaser from member Jun Hyo-seong, who posted a "Shy Boy" makeup photo on June 3 with the caption "We're all gathering for Secret time." However, the reunion will not feature the original four-member lineup — only Jun Hyo-seong and Jung Ha-na (Jinger) will return, joined by a new member.
SECRET debuted in 2009 and became a representative second-generation girl group with hits like "Magic," "Madonna," "Shy Boy," "Starlight Moonlight," and "Love is Move." Group activities effectively stopped after the 2014 mini-album Secret Summer. Han Sun-hwa left the group in 2016 to focus on acting, and Song Ji-eun has not engaged in significant musical activities since marrying creator Park Wi in 2024. RBW, a major K-pop production company, is handling the overall production and planning for the project, which will feature remade versions of past hit songs updated for 2026.
The incomplete lineup has sparked mixed reactions among fans. While many welcome the return after the long silence, disappointment runs deep over the absence of main vocalist Song Ji-eun. Some fans questioned the addition of a new member to what is called a "reunion," while others expressed support, saying any return is better than none. There is now strong curiosity about what musical identity the trio — two seasoned members plus a yet-to-be-revealed newcomer — will create.
"It's a bit disappointing Song Jieun is out, but I support them." — Fan comment
