The dating rumors involving BTS member Jungkook (28) and aespa’s Winter (24) have rapidly intensified, spreading widely across online communities. Netizens have pointed to several pieces of "evidence" supporting the speculation, primarily citing matching tattoos—both stars reportedly have three dogs' faces inked on their arms, suggesting a possible couple tattoo. Further suspicion was fueled by Jungkook's notable attendance at an aespa concert while on military leave, as he is typically absent from other girl group events, even those within his own agency, Hybe. Additionally, his Instagram ID, 'mnijungkook,' is speculated to be a couple ID, with some arguing the letters can be rearranged to reference Winter's birth name, Kim Minjeong. The agencies, Hybe and SM, have remained silent on the rumors, which has been widely interpreted as tacit acknowledgment.
In response to the mounting fan anxiety, BTS leader RM held a live broadcast on Weverse on the 6th. Conscious of the dating rumors, RM stressed that he is not capable of clarifying every incident, stating, "I can no longer represent our team. It’s because I am an individual human being." He explained that due to the nature of their careers, he cannot reveal all the behind-the-scenes reasons for their actions or coordinate the lives of the other members.
RM also addressed the delayed full group comeback, which is now slated for Spring 2026, despite all members completing military service this year. While acknowledging fans’ frustration about the lack of activity in late 2025, he insisted, "There are things I cannot tell you... I do not have the right to explain those."
In a candid moment, RM admitted to serious internal debate about the group's future, confessing he has considered suspending or disbanding the team "tens of thousands of times." He affirmed that the only reason BTS continues is "because of the love we share among ourselves, and the love and respect we have for you."
This wave of repeated dating rumors—alongside recent relationship admissions by Jimin—combined with RM’s visibly frustrated tone and the shocking mention of disbandment has significantly increased anxiety and "fatigue" among ARMY, who are desperately awaiting the group's highly anticipated return.
