Director Jang Jae-hyun stated, "We are in the early stages of developing a Korean-style original story based on vampires. I drew inspiration from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula. I want to create a vampire film set against the backdrop of the Russian Orthodox Church." He previously estimated that the project would take two years to write and four years in total until the final release.
Vampire (tentative title) is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of next year. Through this project, Yoo Ah-in will return to acting after a hiatus of approximately three years. Yoo had been indicted without detention and stood trial on charges including the administration of propofol and illegal prescription of sleeping pills from September 2020 to March 2022, as well as smoking marijuana in the United States in January 2022. After being sentenced to one year in prison with a 2-million-won fine and being taken into custody in 2024, Yoo Ah-in’s sentence was ultimately finalized by the Supreme Court as one year in prison, suspended for two years, along with a 2-million-won fine.
