The K-pop girl group RESCENE has been appointed honorary ambassadors for Gyeongju City to leverage their global influence in attracting younger generations and international tourists.
The selection highlights member Zena’s local ties as a Gyeongju native. This follows the group’s previous ambassadorships for Geoje and Suwon. This expansion of regional representation marks the group’s rising popularity as they bridge traditional Korean heritage with modern K-pop culture.
"As K-pop exerts high influence worldwide, we determined that selecting ambassadors who can familiarly approach the younger generation and foreign tourists was necessary. We selected RESCENE, which includes Gyeongju native Zena, as ambassadors possessing both regionality and popularity." — Gyeongju City
